For any of you who have had the misfortune to cram yourself into my phone booth of a former kitchen. Here is how it looked at 8pm last night.
This is the new hallway created when we ripped out the wall that separated the kitchen from the dining room. We had to do it, we had no other choice for space. I'm getting a dishwasher for the first time in 5 years. I know I shouldn't really complain about that since some people don't even have enough food to eat but it's been a real bummer hand washing every dish for 5 years. The new fridge comes next week, the old one is setting in its space for now.
The floor is Italian porcelain and the counter tops will be solid quartz in black. Once it's done I will be posting before and after photos. John said it best once when he said that our old kitchen looked like it was cobbled together with old crappy pieces of ass to make one big (small) mess.

God, I love it, and I hope you do, too! John hit the nail on the head with your old kitchen. Your house has a lot of charm, but that old kitchen certainly didn't contribute to it whatsoever.
So jealous! And thank you so for the personalized posting. It makes me feel (a) kind of like a nebbish; and (b) special.
Wow.

FANTASTIC!!! I'm so happy for you to finally have a real kitchen (as opposed to the Easy Bake version you demo'd). It speaks to your culinary skills that you were able to produce delicious eats in that postage stamp; I can't wait to
